Makin' stuff again. . .

I've been making some colorful granny squares. . .

I decided instead of going out and buying new yarn, I'm going to use up some yarn I've got laying around for this project (I believe it is called "stashbusting", heh) and also accept donations of scraps of yarn from friends who also knit or crochet! (Thanks, Velocibadgergirl!)

In other makin' stuff news, I made some nice blueberry muffins last night!

Tonight I was hanging out at the computer with my doggie, and I decided to show her some youtube videos of other doggies. . .

I felt kinda mean. . .apparently she was super concerned about them. She whimpered, looked for them under the desk, and just looked downright worried. Anyway, I told her all the puppies are okay, I promise! <3

Baking Zen

Yesterday I made apple pie with brown sugar struesel.

Oooh, aahhh!

I am not normally one to lust after fruit pies. I don't go out of my way to make them or buy them generally. This pie may have changed my mind. It was leaps and bounds better than any store bought pie I'd ever had, or even any home made apple pie I'd eaten. Part of it is probably my special crust. I did not use the crust recipe listed. I used my own personal favorite. I'm not a big fan of crust, so the struesel topping instead of a top crust really helped too. I usually prefer a fruit crumble or fruit crisp to a fruit pie. Anyway, perhaps more piebaking is my my future. Any suggestions for pie types/flavors? :)
